Floor Plans

Looking act floor plans: Classic Lockwood plan- VERANDAH

What we found when looking at our plans as a group

Feedback

Think about how it will function in a space. conceptual plan. Keep pushing the wire knot, have different materials coming out of the sides- paper, wood, made materials. take more photos of different angles. Made material could be interesting to introduce into model with new perspectives. keep looking at the terms i got out of knotting.

Wire Knot

I took the curving and fluid transaction of the knot and put it into a wire frame.
I built it up, as the house will reflect the text review of sustainability, with climate changes being the main focus, lifting the house incase of flooding.

Although used as a lamp I found Jeroen Molenaar's wire frame interesting, he himself is interested in and inspired by architecture. This frame looks as though it could be made inhabitable, with spaces being built up much like what i am interested in doing.

Here showing a ,ore inhabitable space due to added materials.

Sustainability & First Experiments

Drawing out sustainability from the text reviews, focusing on water. Climate change forcing increasing water levels producing flooding and storm events and looking at collecting rainfall. Sustainable resources: plants, rain water, sunlight.

First look at knotting.. thinking about using wire to show a knot- being tanged. Also knotting together smaller material to become a larger and different material- relating back to swing/rope bridges as it moves in a similar manner yet holds its structure, reflecting the idea of flooding and escaping the water.

folding, tying, curving, tightening, fluidity and weaving.

Reviews

Alex Ware: Plenty of orthographic drawings to show the transformed space clearly.
good use of party models of elements in her space, she has clear introduction explaining how the space worked. Folding and sliding created a dramatic geometric space.

Emma K: Good introductions- nice slide of development. Rendered photos show plenty, with good light effects in cryEngine and a nice material material study to show us how it works. COmpletely transformed the space into an art gallery, should have showed the original space.

Alex Love: Affective lighting photos of light portraying water, had good development through presentation. Had beautifully rendered photos that showed reasons for his natural materials. CryEngine photos brought a nice moodiness. Good explanation of orthographic drawings. His idea works well with the original room (sunroom) nice that he stuck to the same sized room.

Sarai Nathan:Good idea of a dressing room, was shown the space well through orthographic drawings, had a strong development from her spatial gesture, plenty of nice sketches showing the room. Whole concept works well for the client.
